DHS, DOJ Respond to Carper Inquiries on Agencies’ Response to Threat of Ransomware

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Tom Carper (D-Del.), top Democrat on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, has received letters from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) outlining information those agencies have about cyber-attacks that use a type of malicious computer virus known as “ransomware.” This information responds to letters sent to the agencies by Senator Carper last December to learn more about this growing problem.
