As Hurricane Season Begins, Sen. Carper Encourages Disaster Preparedness
WASHINGTON – Today, on the first day of the Atlantic hurricane season, Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) encouraged all Delawareans to review hurricane preparedness procedures.
“As Hurricane Irene demonstrated last year, it’s vital that all Delawareans know the threats associated with living in a coastal state and understand how to keep their families and homes safe in the event of a hurricane,” said Sen. Carper. “Proper preparation can help prevent serious damage to homes and property and can even save lives. I encourage Delawareans to review the emergency preparedness resources posted on my website and to take the necessary steps now to prepare their families and homes for any threat from hurricanes or other future storms.”
