Carper Praises DNREC’s DiPasquale
WILMINGTON, DE – Senator Tom Carper today praised outgoing Nicholas DiPasquale as a “conscientious, effective steward of our environment.” DiPasquale, the Secretary of the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, announced he will be leaving that position on September 20, 2002. DiPasquale served in that position when Carper was Governor of Delaware. “No cabinet secretary faces a tougher job than the one Nick has held for the past 5 years. Just ask his predecessors,” Carper said. “We’re fortunate that Nick and his family chose to make Delaware their home a decade ago. In a post where you can never please everyone, Nick has been a conscientious, effective steward of our environment. He was tough when he had to be but knew how to bring opposing parties together to get results. Most of all, he was a straight shooter. Delaware’s air and water quality are improving today in no small part because of his leadership.”
