Chairman Carper Highlights 10th Anniversary of National Cyber Security Awareness Month

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Tom Carper (D-Del.) highlighted Cyber Security Awareness Month’s 10th anniversary. During the month of October, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the National Cyber Security Alliance, and the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center raise awareness about cyber security in an effort to educate Americans about how to protect themselves online.

“In a world where we spend so much time plugged in and logged on, we need to remain vigilant about our safety online and create a cyberspace that is resistant and resilient to cyber threats.” Chairman Carper said. “The 10^th Anniversary of National Cyber Security Awareness Month provides an important opportunity for Americans to learn more about cyber threats and how all of us can take steps to better protect ourselves in cyberspace. This month underscores the responsibility that every American has to educate, anticipate, and protect themselves through responsible cyber security practices.”
