Delaware Delegation Statement on Indian River Inlet Bridge Project Cost Recovery

WASHINGTON – Today, Sens. Tom Carper and Chris Coons (both D-Del.) and Rep. John Carney (D-Del.) issued the following statement in response to the announcement that Delaware is filing suit to recover the costs associated with the failed design of the Indian River Inlet Bridge:

“The Indian River Inlet Bridge is an important project for Sussex County and our State. DelDOT and the Federal Highway Administration have worked very hard together to make the project a success. The problems with the embankments were a set-back, and we are pleased that DelDOT is working to recover the losses incurred by the taxpayers from the responsible parties.”
