Tomorrow: A Delaware Military Institution Retires
DOVER, DE – Senator Tom Carper will surprise retiring Lt. Col. John Burke tomorrow morning with comments he made from the floor of the U.S. Senate. After thirty-two years, Burke is the longest certified C-5 pilot in the history of the United States Air Force. He was stationed at Dover Air Force Base. Later in the day, the Senator will visit with junior military recruits in Camden, sharing with them his “4 Keys to Success”. He will eat lunch with seniors at the Harrington Senior Center and distribute information and applications for the new Together Rx discount prescription drug program. Carper will culminate his afternoon in Sussex, visiting with students and staff at the year-round Seaford Central Elementary, and touring the J.G. Townsend Vegetable Processing Plant.
