Carper gets Pie Thrown in His Face for a Good Cause
***Delaware Technology Student Association is raising money for American Red Cross***
Harrington, DE- Members of The Delaware Technology Student Association (TSA) will throw a pie at Senator Tom Carper and others at the Delaware TSA State Conference on April 14th, at the Harrington State Fair Grounds. The “messy” event is part of a fundraiser for the American Red Cross. Students from across Delaware will also compete in technology-based competitions, ranging from problem solving to computer construction. There will be approximately 240 students competing throughout the day. “This will certainly be a fun event, but we can’t forget why The Delaware Technology Student Association chose to raise money for the American Red Cross,” said Carper. “Currently, it’s a vital organization that’s playing a major role in assisting members of our military engaged in the war in Iraq.” To help raise money, several cans will be set up in order to collect donations for the American Red Cross. Each can will have a picture of a guest who will have a pie thrown in his or her face. Guests include TSA State Officers, TSA State Advisors and Senator Carper as the Mystery Guest. The size of the pies will match the size of the donations made on behalf of that candidate. All proceeds will be directly donated to the American Red Cross in the name of Delaware TSA. The activities of the pie-throwing contest will begin around 3:00 p.m., and the presentation of the check will be delivered at approximately 4:00 p.m. WHO: Senator Carper 240 students competing in technology-based events
