Carper, Kaufman Celebrate Key Committee Approval Of Judge Leonard P. Stark
WASHINGTON – Today Delaware Senators Tom Carper and Ted Kaufman celebrated the Senate Judiciary Committee’s approval of U.S. Magistrate Judge Leonard P. Stark’s nomination to fill a seat on the United States District Court in Delaware. Judge Stark’s nomination will now be considered by full Senate.
"I want to thank my colleagues on the Judiciary Committee for carefully considering and quickly approving U.S. Magistrate Judge Leonard P. Stark’s nomination for a seat on the United States District Court in Delaware," said Sen. Carper. " As I noted last month when I introduced Len at his confirmation hearing before the Judiciary Committee, his legal acumen, his tireless work ethic, and his experience as a Federal Magistrate Judge, Assistant US Attorney, and litigator have prepared him well to fill this seat. I honestly can’t imagine finding anyone in the country better prepared to serve in this position. I will work with my colleagues to ensure that Judge Stark’s nomination is considered by the full Senate in a timely manner.
"With today’s unanimous Judiciary Committee vote, we’re one step closer to seating Judge Stark on the District Court," said Senate Judiciary Committee member Ted Kaufman. "I’m hopeful that Judge Stark will be confirmed by the full Senate in short order."
