Carper Accepting Student Applications for U.S. Service Academy Nominations
WASHINGTON – Today Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) announced that he is accepting applications for United States service academy nominations from students who are residents of Delaware. Sen. Carper encourages students interested in attending U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy or U.S. Military Academy to apply for a nomination through his office.
"Our nation’s first-rate service academies offer students a unique opportunity to obtain an excellent education, serve their country and gain valuable leadership skills that will guide them in their future," said Sen. Carper.
To be considered for a congressional nomination, students must meet all of the general requirements of their academy of choice and complete an application package. Students can obtain the application package by sending a letter of interest to Sen. Carper’s Dover office. The completed application package must be postmarked by Oct. 15, 2010 and can be delivered or mailed to any of Sen. Carper’s Delaware offices. Their locations are:
