Sen. Tom Carper Offers Statement On The News of Sen. Ted Kennedy’s Health

WASHINGTON – In response to the announcement today that Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) has a malignant brain tumor, Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) offered the following statement:

“As the second-longest serving member of the Senate, Ted Kennedy has long fought to ensure every American has a good home, decent health care and a chance to get a solid education.

“I know Ted will approach this newest challenge with all the strength and determination he has always shown, while continuing to fight here in the United States Senate for what he believes is right.

“The people of Massachusetts and this entire nation are truly blessed to have such a strong advocate on their side. Both he and his family are in our prayers.”
