Delaware Delegation Comment On Job Loss At Valero
WILMINGTON – The Delaware congressional delegation, Sens. Tom Carper and Ted Kaufman (both D-Del.) and Rep. Mike Castle (R-Del.), issued the following statement in response to Valero’s announcement of job cuts:
“We were disappointed to learn that Valero will be cutting 250 employees. We are committed to working with Valero and the Delaware Department of Labor to assist these displaced workers, a process we’ve already started exploring. The current economic climate is challenging for many Delawareans and we need to work together as a community – now more than ever – to attract new, high paying jobs to our state.”
