Sen. Carper: Don Clifton Great Choice For USDA State Director

WASHINGTON – Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) issued the following statement in response to the federal appointment this week of William Donald Clifton, II of Milford as the Delaware State Executive Director for the Farm Service Agency at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA):

“After consulting with the governor and the other members of the Delaware delegation, I was happy to offer my recommendation for Don’s appointment because he is the perfect choice to fill this USDA leadership position.

“The Clifton family has been a staple in Delaware’s agriculture community for nearly a century so Don has just the kind of expertise we need.

“Not only does Don have experience with this specific role at USDA, his service to the industry and the state speak volumes about his preparedness for this job. I look forward to working with him in the months and years ahead.”
