Sen. Carper Statement Recognizing Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
WASHINGTON – Today, Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) released the following statement in recognition of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, observed on Monday, Jan. 17, 2011:
“On Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, we will celebrate the remarkable life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a man whose commitment to ending racial inequality continues to inspire Americans decades later. As we begin the New Year, let us honor his legacy by striving to make his vision of peace and social justice a reality for all Americans.”
