Senator Carper Applauds Confirmation of FERC Nominees

Today U.S. Senator Tom Carper (D-Del.), Chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, applauded Senate confirmation of President Joe Biden’s three nominees this week to serve as members of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC): David Rosner, Lindsay See and Judy Chang. Earlier this week, Senator Carper discussed the nominations on the Senate floor.

“The work of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is indispensable for our nation’s continuing transition to a clean energy future. With well over two billion kilowatts of energy – most of it clean energy – waiting to connect to the grid, FERC can play a vital role in expanding our nation’s transmission capacity in order to allow new clean energy projects to move forward quickly. Just to take one example, last month, FERC finalized two rules to tackle pressing challenges in the transmission planning process and modernize our electric grid,” said Senator Carper.

“Today, the Senate has done its job to confirm three well-qualified nominees to be members of the Commission. As a result, FERC will be able to continue its work to advance the policies that we need to bring more low-cost, clean energy off the sidelines and onto the grid across America, all while supporting jobs and protecting our one and only planet.”
